The Trading Post (also known simply as the store) is the School-Based Enterprise ran by Southwestern DECA. If you've spent any time in the school then chances are you've been in there. If you want to work in the store then it helps to be a member of DECA. It's not a requirement, but a signature from Mr. Hall is, so butter him up by joining the club. The official name of the class is Retail Services and it's available to Juniors and Seniors.

Throughout the semester you touch on each aspect of working in, stocking, maintaining, and managing a retail store. You will help keep the money in order, find new products for us to sell, design displays, and work with top-of-the-line equipment. We have a register with a scanner and sophisticated inventory and sales software that you'll become familiar with. Each semester has its own big sale period that you will experience no matter which semester you have the class. The fall semester works during the Christmas Campaign and the spring semester has a big End of School Blowout. It's a good class to get real job experience before heading off to college and into the job market. Just stop in the store and talk to the workers if you want more information about the job. Xperience the difference!

A very happy Otis Spunkmeyer cookie. There's no digital
enhancement, it came out of the oven that way. If a cookie
that'd just spent fifteen minutes in a burning hot oven can be
that happy in the Trading Post, imagine how happy you could
be. Stop on in and find out. We're right by Mr. Hall's room.
