Mr. Hall basically IS DECA at Southwestern. He's been the marketing teacher and head advisor for DECA since the school opened in 1993. After thirteen full years running the school's program, the accolades speak for themselves. In his classroom you can see the shelves of trophies on the walls of winners from past competitions...and that's just the people who left them at the school to motivate future DECA members. The actual number of trophies and awards Mr. Hall has helped usher into Southwestern DECA may never be known for sure, but I'll guarantee it's not easily surpassed by your run-of-the-mill advisor. Four years at the school for me, and it's been four years of seeing Mr. Hall putting his all into his classes, DECA, and The Trading Post. He'll be leaving for retirement after the 2006-2007 school year and there's no greater loss I can think of. Personally, I'm just glad I got a full four years with him. He's prepared me to go on into a career in advertising just as he's been preparing students for over a decade at Southwestern and P.C. before that. On behalf of the SWHS DECA Warriors, my fellow officers, and all the lives he's helped shape through the years, I'd like to wish Mr. Hall a happy retirement and many non-marketing question filled years to come. I know I've got many years of success ahead thanks to how hard he's pushed me, and that's the true testament to a successful teacher's career. |
